Inflammation…The Cause of Disease?

Inflammation is the cause of most, if not all disease. But what is the cause of inflammation. Why not treat inflammation with anti-inflammatories?

What Are The Symptoms Of Inflammation?

  • Visible signs of aging (ex. wrinkles)
  • susceptibility to infections (viral, bacterial, fungal)
  • acid reflux
  • cancer
  • skin conditions (ex. psoriasis, acne)
  • Arthritis
  • Bronchitis
  • Allergies
  • Chronic pain
  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Osteoporosis
  • Heart Disease
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Alzheimers
  • Depression

What Causes Inflammation?

Inflammation is typically caused by a poor environment. What makes up a poor environment? I could write several articles on this but to keep it brief…

  1. Food: To keep it simple, stay away from or limit white sugar (candy, soda pop, cookies, cakes, etc.) & white flour (breads, pastas, etc.)
  2. Water: Many sources of water contain high levels of toxins therefore, make sure you have a pure source of water. Bottled spring water, filtered water, distilled water can be good sources.
  3. Toxic Thoughts: Fear, Anxiety, Anger, Jealousy, etc… Focus on positive things instead…. …whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Phil 4:8

What Does Inflammation Do?

It all goes down to the cellular level. The cell wall has to have the proper enviroment to work properly. If there is inflammation present the cell can’t let nutrients in properly and can’t let toxins out. When toxins can’t get out, the cell itself can’t function properly. The energy producing organelle called the mitochondria can’t produce energy, the DNA and RNA (your genetic material) can’t function properly and you end up with disease.

Why Not Just Take Anti-Inflammatories?

This sounds like a simple solution but like most short cuts they have devistating results. I am not saying don’t ever take an anti-inflammatory but when you begin to depend on them day after day they begin to create problems. This may come as a surprise but our bodies depend on inflammation to heal. That’s right, inflammation is actually part of the normal cascade of reactions in the body that are needed for the body to heal. It is only when inflammation goes unchecked and is constant that it becomes a problem.

How Do I Know If I Have Inflammation?

Do youhave any of the symptoms listed above? Are you taking over the counter medications or perscriptions? If so, more than likely you have inflammation and your body is suffering from disease.
